| POSITION 2: UNIX SYSETM ADMINISTRATOR |

Administration: |
Provide comprehensive Unix systems administration and troubleshooting support for a variety of SUN Solaris environments. |

Projects: Work on multiple projects simultaneously and support a
broad user base; interface with customers in order to resolve technical
system, application, and end user problems. |

Coverage: UNIX support provides a variety of schedules
to support the business needs. Off-hours pager duty or on-site support may

activities, as well as weekend and evening work. |

Integration: Support the integration and implementation of Unix

Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
experience. Five years of system administration experience in a UNIX
production business environment with substantial knowledge of the UNIX
operating system, and Sun Solaris 2.6 and Solaris 8 experience on a variety
of Sun Hardware. |

Proficient at performing system performance monitoring, and troubleshooting on Sun's SunFire and Enterprise servers: E250, E420R, E5500, E6500, Vl120, V280, V480, V4800, V4900, V6800 and V6900 Must have strong knowledge and experience with Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas NetBackup, Veritas File System (VxFS), Veritas Cluster Server (VCS), and Solstice On-Line Disk Suite. Must be able to perform complex tasks using these tools and be proficient at problem resolution and troubleshooting issues related to this software. This includes using Veritas Volume Manager command line commands to create, grow, and/or mirror new volumes and file systems. Must be able to perform this work in accordance with our standards
and demonstrate the knowledge and experience with Veritas and RAID devices to apply these standards.
Must have working knowledge of server systems that support multi-tier web enabled applications and be able to diagnose and trouble shoot problems that may occur on any of the components or at the interfaces between components. |

Proficiency working in an environment running 10BaseT and 100BaseT TCP/IP
networks using LDAP, NIS+, or DNS name services.

in csh or ksh environment. The system administrator will be expected to be
proficient in commands without having to consult manual pages for most
general operations.
Candidate will be expected to review or write shell scripts and understand
general shell scripting practices. Must have knowledge of programming or
writing shell scripts in languages such as Korn Shell, Bourne Shell, or
Perl. Knowledge of compiled programming such as C is Desirable.
Ability to work independently and provide ongoing production support and

The contractors will meet with the application development groups, gather the infrastructure requirements (type of servers, storage capacity needed, system availability requirements etc), select suitable technologies (WebLogic, Oracle, MQ etc), and hard ware (Sun Servers, WINTEL servers etc), prepare multiple deployment architecture options, present it for review, and then co-ordinate with Unix admin, WebLogic admin, DBAs etc to get these environments built, and prepare documentation during all these phases.
